It's nearly Samhain, the time of year when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. Accidental Necromancer

I have 99 problems and necromancy is # 1.

Hiding my necromancy from the world should've been my biggest problem. Necromancy is forbidden, an automatic death sentence for witches like me. I would've been happy to keep my head down, do my part for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations as their only on staff witch, and solve magical crimes. I'd planned to do just that until my first day as an agent when my new boss punched me in the face.
To make work extra exciting, mutilated bodies began showing up around town. Magic, unlike anything I've ever seen, coats them from skin to bone. I have to find the killer before they lose control of the spells and kill even more people.
Did I mention the stalker? He's the reason I live with a vampire.

I thought solving crimes as a witch and leaving my necromancy out of it would make my job simpler. Not easier, just simpler.

Kelsey Pine, Agent for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. I have the title I've always wanted, but that mantle has cost me dearly. As the primary witch coordinating with local law enforcement, I'm stretched to my limit every day, and it's only getting worse.

The minister of my witch clan is determined to either force my loyalty or make my family suffer for my defiance. Each homicide calls to my necromancy, begging me to unleash it and prevent further deaths. Ironic, that. Meanwhile, I'm running around putting out fires all over town.
